This policy describes what Mise en Plan does today. If we start collecting something new, we update this policy before or when the change ships.

1. What we collect

Account. Your email address, a display name you choose, your role in the household (planner or cook), and authentication data held by our authentication provider.

Household preferences. Dietary restrictions (including options such as kosher and halal), ingredients to avoid, diet framework, preferred cuisines, cook-time limits, meal configuration, and optionally a postal code and country.

What you create. Meal plans and swaps, plan constraints, shopping lists, pantry items and their expiry dates, recipes and ratings, your weekly schedule and theme nights.

Support. What you send us when you report a problem: your description, the page you were on, your browser type, and a screenshot if you choose to attach one.

Technical. IP address, browser and device type, pages requested and timestamps, in server logs kept by our hosting provider.

No payment data. Mise en Plan is a free beta. We collect no card or bank details of any kind.

We do not collect precise location, biometric data, or government identifiers. The postal code, if you provide one, is used only for seasonal and regional produce suggestions.

2. How we use it

  • To run the service: hold your account and your content, and generate the plans, recipes and shopping lists the product exists to produce.
  • To keep it working and secure: authentication, abuse prevention, debugging and backups.
  • To talk to you: sign-in and account emails, and replies to support requests.
  • To improve the product, using aggregated or de-identified information.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for anyone's advertising. We use no third-party advertising trackers.

3. What reaches an AI model

We send an AI model the information it needs to plan meals: household member roles and protein targets, dietary restrictions, ingredients to avoid, preferred cuisines, cook-time limits, meal configuration, postal code, season, pantry contents, recipe text and plan constraints.

We do not send your name, your email address, or any identifier tied to a named person. An automated test in our build pipeline checks this on every change.

4. Who receives your data

ProviderWhat it receives
Supabaseyour authentication identity (email, password hash, sessions) and the database holding everything in section 1
Anthropicthe information listed in section 3, to generate plans and recipes
OpenAIrecipe text, to compute the values used for recipe matching
Vercelhosting — request traffic, IP addresses and server logs
Resendyour email address, to send sign-in and account emails

We may also disclose personal information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of any person, or to a successor in a sale or transfer of the business or the product, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5. Sharing

Everyone in your household sees the household's plans, recipes, pantry and shopping lists.

Recipes you write or paste stay private to your household. Recipes Mise en Plan generates for you are ours and remain in the shared recipe library after you leave — see the Terms of Service.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your account and your content while your account is active.

To delete your account, email support@miseenplan.app from your account email and ask. We confirm by reply and complete the deletion within thirty (30) days. This is a manual process handled by the Founder.

Deletion removes your household's data from our active systems, except for recipes Mise en Plan generated, which remain in the shared library, and records we must keep for legal or security reasons. Backups roll off on our providers' schedules. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for its standard retention period.

7. Your choices

  • See and change your data. Most of it you can edit in the product. For anything else, contact us.
  • Delete your account. As described in section 6.
  • State privacy rights. Residents of US states with privacy laws may have additional rights, including access, deletion, correction, and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising. To exercise a right, contact us; we verify the request through your account email and respond within the time the law allows. We will not treat you differently for exercising a right.

8. Security

We protect your data with access controls, encryption in transit, encrypted storage by our providers, and least-privilege access for the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Children

Mise en Plan is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Where your data is processed

Mise en Plan is offered to residents of the United States and your data is processed in the United States by us and our providers. If you use it from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. We post the new version with its effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the product or by email at least fourteen (14) days before it takes effect. Previous versions are available on request.
