1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Mise en Plan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Who may use Mise en Plan

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Mise en Plan is offered to residents of the United States. We do not direct it to any other country.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
  • You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission.

3. Beta

Mise en Plan is in beta and is free. There are no fees and we collect no payment information. Features may change or end without notice. You may invite anyone; each person accepts these Terms when they sign up.

4. Your content

"Your Content" is anything you enter or upload: preferences, plans, recipes you write, pantry and shopping lists, notes, feedback, and screenshots you choose to attach.

  • You own Your Content.
  • You give Thresh Lab a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, display and transmit Your Content to operate the service for you, including sending the relevant parts of it to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy.
  • You confirm you have the right to provide Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

5. Recipes

Recipes you enter or paste are for your household's personal use. They stay private to your household and are deleted when your household is deleted.

Recipes Mise en Plan generates for you — when it builds a plan or a Cook Now suggestion — are written by Thresh Lab and belong to Thresh Lab. They stay in the shared recipe library after you leave. Nothing you type or paste is published to that library.

6. Households

A household is a shared account. Every member can see the household's plans, recipes, pantry and shopping lists. A household join code lets anyone who has it join your household — treat it like a password.

7. Plans, recipes and figures are informational

Mise en Plan uses automated systems, including third-party artificial-intelligence models, to generate plans, recipes and estimates.

  • What it generates is informational. It is not medical, nutritional, dietary or professional advice.
  • Generated content can be wrong or incomplete. Check it before you act on it.
  • Nutrition figures are estimates, not measured values.
  • Dietary restrictions and ingredients-to-avoid are guidelines the planner follows on a best-effort basis. They are not certified restrictions. You are responsible for deciding what is safe for you and your household to eat.

8. Acceptable use

You will not:

  • use Mise en Plan for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
  • attempt to access accounts or data you are not authorised to access, or test our security without written permission;
  • interfere with the service, including by automated traffic, scraping or excessive requests;
  • copy, resell, sublicense or redistribute the service or its generated content at scale, or use them to build a competing service;
  • upload content you do not have the right to provide;
  • misrepresent who you are or your relationship to Thresh Lab.

9. Accounts, suspension and termination

You may stop using Mise en Plan at any time and may ask us to delete your account by emailing support@miseenplan.app from your account email.

We may suspend an account we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or creates risk for other users. Where practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Suspension preserves your data; deletion is a separate step. We may terminate an account for material breach, and may discontinue the service on reasonable notice.

10. Intellectual property

Thresh Lab and its licensors own Mise en Plan, its software, design, text, marks and structure. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

11. Third-party services

Mise en Plan relies on third-party services for hosting, authentication, AI models and email. They are named in our Privacy Policy. We do not control them and are not responsible for their availability or their terms.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

Mise en Plan is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Thresh Lab disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that generated content will be accurate or suitable for you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Thresh Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Mise en Plan or its generated content.
  • Thresh Lab's total liability for all claims relating to Mise en Plan in any twelve-month period is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and hold harmless Thresh Lab and Douglas Styler from claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your unlawful use of the service.

15. Changes

We may change Mise en Plan at any time. We may change these Terms by posting a new version with a new effective date. For material changes we will notify you in the product or by email at least fourteen (14) days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Previous versions are available on request.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Williamson County, Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing, both sides agree to try to resolve the dispute by written notice and good-faith discussion for thirty (30) days.

17. General

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Thresh Lab about Mise en Plan. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of the business or the product. Failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. Notices to us go to support@miseenplan.app; notices to you go to your account email.
